Four keys to truly effective Mentorship

Tonight at Orange, Scott Williams came up and shared the four most important things a Mentor does. Short, sweet, and to the point, but if your interested in mentorship ( if not, then you’re not doing effective ministry!) then they are worth taking note of. He referred to it as BECC which is super easy to remember, but a mentor :

Believes | See’s the potential in the student that the student may not see, and helps the student learn to see it in themselves.

Encourages | Help’s students see their potential, and prods them on to achieving it

Challenges | Doesn’t let the student stay where they are. Pushes them to growth

Corrects | Understands that they will be growing and thus making mistakes, and isn’t afraid to tell students the painful truth to produce growth
